AMAG Austria Metall AG: Impairment requirement affects EBIT in FY 2024;
EBITDA range remains unchanged
The preliminary impairment tests (according to IFRS) conducted as part of
the preparation of the consolidated financial statements of
AMAG Austria Metall AG (together with its consolidated subsidiaries, the
AMAG Group) revealed the need for impairment charges at AMAG components,
which is allocated to the Rolling Division. As a result, based on current
calculations, AMAG Group’s EBIT is expected to be reduced by approximately
EUR 15 million in the 2024 financial year. This translates into an EBIT
range for 2024 between EUR 55 million and EUR 75 million.
The impairment charges relate to the two German production facilities of
AMAG components Übersee GmbH and AMAG components Karlsruhe GmbH, where
ready-to-install detailed parts are manufactured, primarily for the
aircraft industry. Due to rising production costs, significant fixed-price
multi-year contracts, a simultaneously challenging economic environment
and increasing international competition in the aircraft component
production, future profitability will be negatively impacted.
The impairment charges are non-cash and have no impact on EBITDA. The
EBITDA range communicated by AMAG Group for the 2024 financial year thus
remains unchanged at EUR 160 million to EUR 180 million.
