Ried i. Innkreis – Airbus today announced that they will discontinue production and delivery of the A380 in 2021. The reasons for this are the lack of new orders for quite some time and ultimately the partial cancellation of A380 orders from the largest A380 operator. Following Airbus‘ announcement today to discontinue the delivery of A380 aircraft in 2021, the Management Board is adjusting its EBIT expectations for the financial year 2018/19. Due to a negative one-off effect resulting from the impairment of non-amortized cost for engineering services of approximately EUR 12 million, the earnings forecast for financial year 2018/19 now stands at almost EUR 40 million.
